Pooped.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019m pooped!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one, &#8220;Wiped out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0It\u2019s sort of like drain, your energy has just been completely wiped out of your body, you have nothing left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You\u2019re so, so tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You know that\u2019s really how I\u2019m feeling today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019m just wiped out!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Again, the ED ending here is a T. Wiped.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Wiped out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one is \u201cworn out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You know, not just people but things can be worn out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019m thinking of Stoney\u2019s shoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Stoney is my five-year old son and he has this pair of shoes that are sort of a rubbery, plasticky material.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And it really looks like they\u2019re worn out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0There are some places where it seems like there\u2019s hardly any rubber left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And it makes sense.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0He&#8217;s constantly running around on them, on the asphalt, on streets, sidewalks, in playgrounds, I get it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Actually, Stoney\u2019s shoes are fine but Sawyer\u2019s are little worn out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Okay, let\u2019s look and see if it\u2019s getting worn out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Oh yeah, see there?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Where?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Right there on the tip it\u2019s getting worn out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The soles all gone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Goodness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Uhhh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You\u2019ll need some new shoes soon, won\u2019t you?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Speaking of worn out, sometimes when I\u2019m playing with Stoney, doing all of that running around, I end up feeling pretty worn out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Speaking of running, The next one is \u201crun down.\u201d This is like you\u2019re just tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I feel like when we\u2019re really run down from working too hard for a month or something that our body\u2019s are sort of more susceptible to getting sick.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Have you ever noticed that?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0If you\u2019re really worn down from overwork, stress, a stressful family or life situation that you get sick?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I really hate that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I hope you\u2019re not feeling at all run down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one is \u201cfried.\u201d ED ending, the D makes the D sound fried and it\u2019s just like what it looks like, what you think it would be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Fried like after long day of meetings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Can you imagine you\u2019ve done all that thinking and now your brain is just fried.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I could also see saying this after a long day of studying or test-taking, your body or your mind, you\u2019re just fried.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one is \u201cspent.\u201d Think of spending money.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Once it\u2019s spent you have none left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And we use this to refer to energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0If you\u2019re spent, you don\u2019t have any energy left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0This makes me think of this one time in college.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I was taking a Physics class.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And I had a really big lab due the next day and I hadn\u2019t known, I have completely forgotten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0So I had to pull an all-nighter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0That means stay up all night working on something.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I pulled an all-nighter, I didn\u2019t sleep at all, I got the lab done but that next day, I was completely spent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Now we\u2019re going to go over two: Sleepy and Drowsy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Do you remember the dwarf Sleepy from Snow White?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0This refer to lack of sleep and being tired in that way, really needing to fall asleep.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0It\u2019s a little bit different than some of the other ones that we\u2019ve talked about that are more like tired from energy leaving the body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Sleepy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Drowsy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0When I think of this, I think of one time in college, I went to go see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra right after lunch and it was a really good performance but I was just kind of tired!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And as I said, I just eaten lunch, it was a big meal, I remember it was Thai and it was so good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And you know what?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0As I sat there listening this beautiful music, I started to feel kind of sleepy, drowsy, and you know what I did?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I nodded off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0If you nod off, that\u2019s like when you fall asleep without necessarily meaning to.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Next the word \u201cfatigued.\u201d ED ending making a D here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0This usually relates to the body and again it\u2019s just when you have absolutely no energy but it can also refer to the mind like after a long day of test-taking or other hard mental work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0When I think of the word fatigued, I think of when I was pregnant with Stoney.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0For the first four months, I was so fatigued, some days I literally didn\u2019t get out of bed, I worked on my laptop in bed, I had no energy, I was completely drained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Extremely fatigued.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Next we have \u201csapped.\u201d ED ending makes a T here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0This comes from a word in old Italian that means to dig away around the foundation of a building to make it weak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0When I think of being sapped, I think of a time David and I as adults went to Disney together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And we went for 8 hours, we got in at 4, we stayed until midnight and we walked the entire time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0And I just remember walking back to our hotel, my feet hurt so bad, my body was so, so tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I was completely sapped.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Next, \u201cI\u2019m bushed.\u201d A bush or a shrug but in this case and again means to be really tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Let\u2019s come up with a sample sentence that relates to a bush.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Let\u2019s say you\u2019ve spent all day weeding your garden, pruning bushes and that kind of thing, can\u2019t you imagine? You&#8217;d be really tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You would be really bushed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one is a British bonus!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Because we don\u2019t use it in American English.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019ve never heard it used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0But I know it\u2019s fairly common in British English and it\u2019s \u201cknackered.\u201d Again, the ED ending makes a D sound and it means tired, exhausted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019m knackered!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one is \u201cdog tired.\u201d Are dogs tired?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I guess so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I guess like a really old dog might be tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Or a dog who&#8217;s been running around all day but this is just another way of saying very tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You\u2019re just not tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You\u2019re dog tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0It\u2019s almost like you need to go to sleep right away.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The next one is \u201ctaxed.\u201d ED ending is a T here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0If you\u2019re taxed, you\u2019ve really spent a lot of what you have.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Energy, resources, you\u2019re really stretched thin, you don\u2019t have much left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Let\u2019s say it\u2019s after work and some friends are going out for a drink.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0They might say &#8220;Rachel do you want to join?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0But I\u2019m feeling so stressed out, low on energy, I might just say, \u201cNo guys, I\u2019m sorry I\u2019m really taxed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019m just going to go home and rest.\u201d The next one is the phrase something really to it out of me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0For example, I was at the beach last week with Stoney and Sawyer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Sand, sun, salet, lots of running around, heat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You know, that makes me really tired.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The beach just kind of took it out of me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Next is the word \u201cfrazzled.\u201d You\u2019ve been working really hard on a project and maybe it hasn\u2019t gone that well and you\u2019re just frazzled.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You\u2019re almost running out of things to try, you\u2019re really tired, you\u2019re exhausted by the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Let\u2019s come up with a scene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0We\u2019re at work and we\u2019re going to ask a co-worker to join our team and help us with a project and someone says \u201cHey, should we ask Sarah?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I might say, \u201cYou know what?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0She\u2019s been frazzled with her other projects, I think maybe we should ask someone else.\u201d Next the word \u201ctuckered out.\u201d Ed ending here makes a D. It\u2019s the end of the day, you\u2019ve been working so hard, you\u2019re just so tired, you don\u2019t have much energy left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You know, this is sort of how my boys go through life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0They run, run, run, they spent so much energy and then at about 7PM, they start to get a little bit grumpy and they are just tuckered out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0They want to be tucked into bed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Next the word \u201cburned out.\u201d This happens when you get really tired and worn down from doing too much work on one thing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0You know, some Youtubers try to post so frequently and it takes so much energy to make one video that they really hit burnout after years of doing it, they just can\u2019t do it anymore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0It\u2019s really having a negative impact on their health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0That\u2019s actually one of the reasons why I only make one video a week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I want to make sure to avoid burnout.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0I\u2019ve been doing this for 13 years and I don\u2019t want to stop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Next, &#8220;dead on my feet&#8221;
